Travel to the Edge of the World

Ep102_6 For most of us, the idea of visiting the remote corners of the Earth is pure fantasy—the closest we can get to these places are usually pictures we see in magazines. Fortunately for us, we’ve been invited to join (Canon) photographer Art Wolfe on a journey across 13 stunning locations. Travels to the Edge with Art Wolfe, a miniseries exploring the beauty of the world beyond (and sometimes within) our borders, will be airing in all its HD glory this month.

The best stuff though is reserved for the web. You can get behind the scenes of the miniseries by visiting the Canon Digital Learning Center. Once there, you can get information about the locales visited and view photos used in the episodes.

Even better, each episode offers up a couple of video tips from Wolfe as well as a few other pointers on photographic techniques and making the most of your equipment. They’ve also got some tips on choosing equipment, but of course, they will be pushing Canon gear.

Watch the show if you wish—living vicariously through Art Wolfe might be just be enough to cure your wanderlust. If you want to get into nature photography though, you should visit the site – so you can learn how to take an already beautiful scene and turn it into a spectacular photograph.

I wish companies would just give up on trying to force us all to watch tv these days.

Honestly, there's no excuse for not providing good quality video of full episodes online.

I like the website and the functionality to browse, but it's frustrating not to be able to watch the actual show. Not only is it not available in my area, but I haven't had cable in five years and I refuse to start now.

TV needs evolve or die off, I just wish they'd pick one and do it soon.
