Improve your webcam

Strobist.com lighting guru David Hobby has come up with a few tips to improve the picture quality of your webcam. No, it doesn’t involve fiddling around with the camera – instead, he suggests playing with lights and changing your shirt.

Even your humble webcam can benefit from techniques used by pro photographers. Among Hobby’s suggestions:

•    Use a lamp diffused with some paper (or a wall) to light your face.
•    Tell your webcam what white is by wearing a white shirt.
•    If you wear glasses, dim your monitor.

You can get the full tutorial, as well as some other killer tips at Strobist.
