Tip of the Day: How to Avoid Stains

When I’m posing outdoor family portraits, my subjects often have to sit or kneel on damp sand or grassy ground. To prevent stains, I bring small (between 4x4 and 4x12 inch) scrapes of carpeting from a local carpet store. Each one is small enough to slip under a subject’s knee without being visible from the camera’s perspective (and a cinch to remove using Photoshop if it shows).
