Your Photo: Our Critique

This is a beautifully composed photograph—I like the symmetry on either side of the boat, and the perspective point ending in the distant sky. Here are a few things I would fix to make it even better: Remove the distracting out-of-focus blades of grass in the foreground. Lighten the group of trees on the right side, and lighten the mid-tones in the boat itself for more detail. Crop off some of the bottom or the top for a more dramatic look—a centered horizon almost always makes a picture look static. (Photo submitted by Allison Cottreau).
