Study (Over)Haul

You can learn photography a lot of places. But how about the business aspects of photography, too? That’s where the New York Institute of Photography (www.NYIP.com) has long held an edge. Now, with updated course material on everything from digital capture to model releases, NYI’s Complete Course in Professional Photography helps you turn pixels into paychecks.

“But we haven’t forgotten film,” says NYI Dean Chuck DeLaney. “We cover that, too, because a lot of pros who shoot weddings really like film for its wide dynamic range.” The full course is available for a single payment of $948 or an initial payment of $28 and monthly payments of $45. And don’t worry, if you don’t like it, you can get a full refund after trying out the First Unit of the course.

As a current student I can certainly vouch for the fact they haven't forgotten about film, more appropriately they've barely discovered digital. Unless the course has changed in the past month or so, it is very focused on film. Not that it is bad, most of the discussion is still valid, just know that a lot of the material feels dated.
