Your Photo: Our Critique

Troy Durrance submitted this image taken with a Canon 40D, with an exposure of 1/250sec at f/5.6, ISO 400. Troy made the most of the late afternoon light which created beautiful color. The first thing that jumps out from this photo is the fact that the eye is not in focus. What is in focus is the white area on the tip of the dog's nose.  One way to give more room for error when shooting is to use a smaller aperture. If the eye was in focus I would suggest a slight move on the photographer’s part to place the eye between the two tall blades of grass instead of having the one blade just under the eye.
