New Gear: Sony 28-75mm F2.8 SAM Lens

If you're planning on picking up one of Sony's new full-frame A850s, this standard zoom would make a nice companion. At $800, it's substantially cheaper than the Zeiss 24-70mm F2.8 ZA, but still maintains that fast, F2.8 aperture. It has 14 elements and 16 groups, as well as the SAM technology, which stands for Smooth Autofocus Motor. Minimum focus distance is 1.3 feet and you can expect it to hit the shops starting in November.
