D3X Tattoo Makes This Man the King of the Nikon Fanboys
The Nikon vs. Canon debate has raged on for years, each side winning over its fair share of die-hard fans. But, Manny Williams went far out of his way to show his allegiance to the big N. He now has a rather large tattoo of his D3X forever etched into his own forearm. It's nice to see someone using their fanboyism for the sake of art, rather than using it to fuel caps-lock-laden internet arguments. Manny is a professional photographer and has been for quite some time, so there's a good chance his boss (if he has one) will be fine with his new ink.
The only real downside we see here is that the tattoo itself isn't particularly well done. I must confess that I'm a bit of tattoo snob, but those clunky lines certainly aren't straight, but at the same time, they're not crooked enough to qualify as abstract. Do you have a photography-related tattoo? Send it along to us and if we get enough, we'll share them with the world (or at least the part of the world that reads this site.) What a freaking Moron!! What's with these people that are defacing themselves with all these tattoos? They are mental cases! That's why these people were in circus freak shows.

Wow, I'm not a fan of tattoos, but seriously? Why so hard on him? If he wants to have a camera drawn on his arm... that doesn't make him a mental case, for pete's sake. It doesn't even affect you, so you might as well lighten up about it :) For being a tattoo, it's pretty cool actually. It's not inappropriate or crass, or creepy... or anything like that.

Sadie is right! -- and PopPhoto is wrong and needs a new monitor if they are seeing crooked lines.
While I don't want a tattoo for myself, it's none of my business what anyone else wants applied to their bodies whether a temporary layer of make-up or a permanent, engraved work in ink.
Lighten up, Rich, one of your children may show up one of these days with a tat-doozy on their arm.

I guess people must have other's permission first to do something to their own body, Seems to me you're the moron, Rich.

It is amazing to me how angry people get at others personal choices. Especially when it does not, and will not effect them, ever. I am tattooed, and I have yet to meet someone who feels the need to flail about and gesticulate and proselytize. (Although, I was once told I was "marked for hell" :))Even my folks, who've always made clear their disdain for tattoos, don't care. What does it matter? Really, in the grand scheme of things, what does it matter? It is clearly an issue of a need to control others. Perhaps a lack of personal control?
By the way, more power to the dude who got the D3X tattooed to his arm. Go Nikonians!

Hey, thats me up there. Everyone has the right to their opinion, good or bad. I got a love for what I do and I found a piece of equipment that makes my job really easy. It's not hurting anyone and it's just an statement of how I feel. Thanks for all the comments

I think it is unfortunate that so many people feel compelled to nitpick every camera that is brought to market, downgrade every photo that is posted and criticize everyone else's taste in cameras and/or tattoos. I rarely even read the comments on here for that very reason. But I think it is great that we have camera products (from several manufacturers) that are so good that someone would want to have one tattooed. There are a lot worse things someone could have tattooed on his/her arm. I think this tattoo is really interesting and well done.

I have a leica 3c tattooed on me, my very first camera and after 32 years i still shoot it from time to time. Nice tattoo :) But yes some of the lines are a little shakey but still nice. I tattoo and ashoot for a living so I can appreciate the work from both ends. Maybe i'll send a pick of mine soon.

This is a matter of pleasure. If one finds himself happy to get a tattoo on him then its his own choice. Its quite better then criticize everybody.
